ABOUT OUR TEACHERS
We believe that Karate teachers should lead by example. Students of the karate class will train alongside their teachers, often the Sensei will practice with the students, especially during a warm up, and Kihon (basics). This is because the teacher is also a student. Keeping a beginner’s mind is very important in KarateDo.
The chief instructor of this branch requires that, any black belt who instructs, should adhere to our safeguarding and child protection policy, receive first aid training and commit to ongoing teacher development training. DBS (The Disclosure and Barring Service) checks are requirements for teaching within this Karate School.
During a Karate class, teachers will always recognise individuals and develop their strengths. Learning is always positive, with constructive advice given. The aim is for the students to walk away from a class feeling motivated, improved and to recognise their own achievements. Every journey in KarateDo is unique, some may wish to climb the ranks and achieve mastery whilst others find karate classes to be good for their overall health, or enjoy the energy that is created during training. Whatever your reason for wanting to learn, it is the skill and compassion of the teacher that is necessary to recognise and develop your needs.
